The goal | Introduction to the exploration of the cultural production of the English speaking world, based on the study of three major textual patterns related to mass media (television/film), advertising industry and new media. | |||
The outcome | Students will be able to produce semiotic analyses of different textual materials and to present their research in various formats. | |||

Contents of lectures | Culture and identity, popular culture/high culture opposition, consumer society, television, advertising, target audience. Digital culture. Urban space as cultural space. Language and popular culture. | |||
