The goal | Ethics is one of the oldest disciplines of philosophy. As such, it is necessary in undergraduate studies of philosophy. The starting point for the possibility of its foundation is found in ontology of values which is explicated as ontology of moral values, i.e. as investigation of ontological grounding of ethical question. Modern destruction of traditional ways of ethical question endangered the very possibility of grounding ethics as relatively self-contained philosophical discipline, as much as the historical meaning of understanding of ethical subject, i.e. moral phenomenon. Such openness demands for ethical subject to be grounded not only as positive explication of a philosophical science, but as a critical consideration of possibilities and limits of ethical question, i.e. general ethical problems, concepts and categories.
The outcome | Ethics study should profoundly introduce students to problem field of one of the oldest philosophical disciplines and enable them to understand its concepts and problems.
