The goal | Studying of the Philosophy of History has a couple of basic goals: Absolving of historical thought in the philosophy, acquiring thematic acquaintance of the historical discussions regarding concepts of time, history and historicity, and getting orientation in discussions regarding problems of a foundation of the philosophy of history and philosophical founding of the historical science. It is of special importance, for the study of the philosophy of history, that such a study could enable good thematic insight in the leading philosophical conceptions and problems of the contemporary epoch. | |||

Contents of lectures | Ancient historiography and the problem of progress in ancient philosophy and literature; Jude-Christian historical thought; a concept of time and history in Augustins philosophy; Vico and genesis of secular philosophy of history; Heidegger's philosophy of history; Kant's concept of time and history; Hegel's phenomenology of time and history; Marx's historical thought; Critique of historical reason (Dilthey); Contemporary quarrels regarding philosophy of history and historical thought (Neokantianism: Simmel); Heidegger's concepts of time and historicity; Löwith and strategies of contestation of philosophy of history. | |||
