    The goal The aim is to enable the student to identify the thematic-motive, genre-poetic main emphases points in literature from its European beginnings until the Renaissance. He should be able to reveal through the textual analysis of the work the development and the changes in the history of culture.
    The outcome The student should be able to orient in some eras of world literature until the Renaissance, to reveal the logics and the connections between eras and to successfully approach towards the work through context.
    Contents
    Contents of lectures Theoretical classes: Introduction to the science about world literature (the concept and interpretation of world literature, schools, scientific methods). Introduction to interpreting texts from the Bible. Song of Songs. Introduction to Mythology. Research on Myths and Symbols (Kassirer, Jung, Gadamer, Foucault, Meletinsky, Levi-Strauss). Greek and Roman Mythology. The Creation of the World. Heroes of love, adventures and the Trojan War. Greek literature. Homeros: Ilyada. Greek literature. Homeros: Odysseia. The birth of tragedy, Greek tragedy. (Aeschylus: Prometheus Bound). Greek tragedy (Sophocles: Philoctetes). Greek tragedy (Euripides: Alcestis). Platon: Semiotics.............. Antic Greek erotic adventurous novel (Longus: Daphnis and Chloé, Heliodorus: Aethiopica). Anthic Latin adventurous novel (Petronius: Trimalchio's Dinner Party, Apuleius: Golden Ass). Literature of the Middle Age (Villon).
