    The goal Students are to get an insight into the most significant problems of text linguistics, to gain knowledge of the text linguistics terminology, and to point out the major features of Hungarian texts.
    The outcome Students will gain knowledge related to text linguistics and the terminology correlated to the subject, which they will be able to apply in text analysis. They will develop critical thinking as well as keenness to observe the advancements in text linguistics.
    Contents
    Contents of lectures General problematics of text linguistics; theoretical and methodological questions. The disciplines of text linguistics and its relationship with other scientific disciplines. Text levels and elements. Acoustics and the written form. Syntax and connection. Semantics and cohesion. Pragmatics and coherence. Structure. Typology. Intertextuality. Semiotic text linguistics. Creative text analysis.
    Contents of exercises In-depth discussion on certain issues of text linguistics; students’ presentations of the most significant topics. Text analysis.
