The goal | The aim of the course is to give the students sociological knowledge on historical development and characteristics of modern organizations, to present empirical findings on functioning of organizations and the trends of their change, to enable the students to solve conflicts they could face in „organizational society“. | |||
The outcome | The students are able to do sociological research about problems of organizations and their management. | |||
Contents | ||||
Contents of lectures | Sociological understanding of contemporary organizations, understanding of techno-economic systems and human side of organization. For successful leadership of organization it is necessary to understand basic social processes and „social climate“ in organizations. There is no modern expert (especially manager) without: a) basic sociological knowledge on organization; b) knowledge on key empirical findings of organizational research; c) knowledge and skills of linking technological and social organization of enterprise and other forms of organizations. | |||
Contents of exercises | Understanding of process of organizing, leading, communication, decision making and understanding of possibilities of organizational acting in social environment – on the basis of presentation of research and sociological explanation. | |||
