Contents of lectures | The period of Enlightenment: the role of literary translations, the adaptations of the original works, and Imanuel Janković’s translations. Bilingual editions: Moravska pesma [Moravian song]. Public interest in the theoretical issues of translation: J. Subotić (Some thoughts about how we should translate foreign Classical poetic writings). The role of translating the Holy Scripture in the emergence of the Serbian literary language and the expansion of the ideas of Vuk Karadžić about the national language in the theoretical writings about translation (Vuk S. Karadžić: Novi zavjet-Predgovor [New Testament-Foreword], 1847, Ogledi Svetog pisma na srpskom jeziku , Leipzig, 824. Anonymous: About translation from German to Serbian). The view of J.
